And that’s that.
Dan Harmon: Writer of Community, Friend of children
Okay, so I’ve spent most of the afternoon obsessing about Dan Harmon and his writing process. While reading the Wired article directly below this post, I saw Harmon mentioned as the writer of Monster House - which caused me to remember a blog post I had seen from Kelly Oxford some time ago. Apparently Monster House gave Oxford’s daughter nightmares so Harmon wrote her a letter to make her feel better.
The letter is on the other side of this link. Read it. It’s a neat story about being nice to a little girl and what makes a good story.

Big thanks to Teamtired who pointed out this article on Dan Harmon’s creative process when writing Community. It actually addresses the circle on the dry erase board from this post.
I love this kind of thing.
COMMUNITY RETURNS TOMORROW!
My buddy Ian posted this picture on Facebook. This represents the moment where I realized Community wasn’t just funny, it was genius.
If you haven’t previously watched Community, please start tomorrow. There’s a lot riding on it’s mid-season return. And by “a lot,” I mean me being forced to watch Will Arnett play one more character that isn’t Gob Bluth.
Come on guys.

Community For Newbies - Five Episodes To Get You Hooked
The Internet heaved a collective sigh of relief yesterday with NBC’s announcement that Community would be returning March 15. But that relief was short-lived: If Community’s return is going to be a triumphant anthem and not a tragic swan song, it needs more viewers. Preferably a lot more!
Community > Parks and Rec > All Other Sitcoms
I love Parks and Rec, but for all its charm, it doesn’t have gags that are three seasons in the making. Each of these clips is from a different season of Community:
I’m sorry, but this can’t go away. What is wrong with you television-viewing public?
