Happy birthday baby

Yesterday was Sara’s birthday. It was also Britney Spears’ birthday. They were born on the same day and are the exact same age. Let’s compare and contrast:

Age: Same

Location: Britney - California/ Sara - Kentucky

Occupation: Britney - Performer/ Sara - Hair Dresser

Marital Status: Britney - Divorced/ Sara - Married

Mental state: Britney - Presumably bonkers/ Sara - Solid as a rock

Appearance: Britney - Increasingly haggard and strange/ Sara - Gets more beautiful every day

Importance to me: Britney - None/ Sara - Means the world to me

So as you can see, the similarities between Sara and Britney stop at them sharing a birthday.

When I married Sara I went in a little cocky. I had been married before, I was older, and I had dated a lot. I considered myself fairly self-aware and figured I had this marriage figured out.

The reality is, though, that Sara teaches me something new everyday. I wasn’t ready for how caring and loving she is. I wasn’t ready for how complex she is. I wasn’t ready to see just how large my capacity to be a wrongheaded doofus was.

If I’ve done one thing right in my life, it’s picking her as my wife. She’s more than my better half, she’s my everything. And I’ve never deserved her for even a second. But she’s mine and she’s stuck, so joke’s on her!
