ice II
So Lexington has spent the last week covered in what I originally described as a fine layer of ice. That was an innacurate description. It was not a fine layer of ice. It was a thick layer of ice.
Ice covered limbs fell all over Lexington, knocking down powerlines and small children. Well, I haven’t actually heard any reports of limbs knocking down small children, but I’m sure it must have happened.
So anyway - traffic lights and street lamps were out all over the place. Tuesday night, I’m drivng down Man-O-War Boulevard at about 1:00 in the morning. And there were no street lights. I saw pieces of the night sky that I’ve never seen in Lexington. It’s bigger than I thought. The street lights create an invisible roof over the city that you don’t notice until it’s gone.
Good to know.
